Getting Started
After downloading the app, you'll go through a quick setup:
1. Install the required iOS Shortcut (we'll guide you through this)
2. Add your first notes
3. Choose your wallpaper backgrounds
4. Allow iPhone permissions
5. Generate and apply your first wallpaper
The whole process takes about 2 minutes.
The Shortcut is what actually applies your wallpaper to your lock screen. iOS doesn't let apps directly change your wallpaper, so we use Apple's Shortcuts app as a bridge. Don't worry—we make it super easy to install, and it's completely safe.
Wallpaper Issues
This is the most common issue. Here's how to fix it:
1. Make sure you installed the "Set NoteWall Wallpaper" shortcut
2. When the shortcut runs, make sure you tap "Allow" for all permissions
3. The shortcut should show you a preview of your wallpaper—tap "Add" to apply it
4. Go to your lock screen to see your notes
If it's still not working, try reinstalling the shortcut from Settings → Reinstall Shortcut.
Check these things:
- Did you select "Lock Screen" when the shortcut asked which wallpaper to set?
- Did you choose a background that's too busy? Try using the black or gray preset
- Are your notes too long? The app fits as many notes as possible, but very long notes might not all fit
Just tap the "Update Wallpaper" button in the app. The shortcut will open automatically, and you can apply your updated wallpaper. It takes about 5 seconds.
Shortcut Problems
Make sure:
1. You're running iOS 15 or later
2. You have the Shortcuts app installed (it comes with iOS)
3. You're tapping "Add Shortcut" when the link opens
4. In Shortcuts settings, "Allow Untrusted Shortcuts" might need to be enabled (Settings → Shortcuts)
Go to Settings in Lock Screen Notes: Notewall → Tap "Reinstall Shortcut" → Follow the setup process again. This will reset the app and walk you through installing the shortcut fresh.
Try these steps:
1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone
2. Find "Set NoteWall Wallpaper"
3. Delete it
4. Go back to Lock Screen Notes: Notewall → Settings → Reinstall Shortcut
5. Install the shortcut again
